The big difference between this fence and most Bessemeyer clones is the addition of a second "T" section that pinches and rides the front of the rail when the fence is unlocked and rides along the rail on some UHMW gliders. I have learned to absolutely trust in the accuracy of the cursor as when I set it up for 11-23/32" that is exactly what it will be with no second guessing, ever. The fence does not deflect during sawing operations and has very little free play even when in the unlocked state once properly adjusted (provided you are not applying a lot of lateral force to the fence). It it is a zero slop fence in that, when properly setup, you can set it to precisely the measurement you need when unlocked and it will not drift off that position while locking it down, making micro adjustments is trivial as all you need to do is release the fence and tap its side to advance it slightly until it is exactly where you need it, then lock it back down. Call their parts department to get pricing and availability. If you would like a very nice fence upgrade, consider contacting Steel City and asking for their upgraded " Industrial Fence" as it is one of the best Bessemeyer style fence I have ever used provided the quality has not changed from what I presently own (it used to be called their "Deluxe Fence" in their earlier years).
